Programs are held at our Polpis Harbor location (for children ages 5 to 15 and Adults 18+), at the Jetties Sailing Center (Water Sports Camp for ages 7-12 and Sailing Lessons for ages 8-18+) and are launched off the Children's Beach boat ramp (for our Keelboat programs for ages 7-18+) To view which programs are available for your sailors' age group, click on the appropriate tab to the left of our webpage. After reviewing the program descriptions, schedules and age/experience requirements, visit the registration page to register you and/or your sailor. Please remember that program space is limited and is done on a first come first serve basis.
An NCS membership is required to participate in the NCS programs and you will be prompted to purchase one during the online registration process. Membership levels start at $75 for a youth individual membership and range up to a $700 Jetties Sailing Center family membership. Depending upon the membership level you purchase, all or portion of your membership fee is considered a tax deductible donation to NCS, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. We have a high demand for many of our programs and are pleased to offer a waitlist for any session that has been filled. We will try our best to clear as many participants from the waitlist as possible when space allows. Sometimes we are able to clear a waitlist early in the season and other times, it's the morning of a program. If your name comes up on a waitlist we will try every contact method you have provided. There is a waitlist fee of $10 to help cover admin costs. If you are cleared into the program you have waitlisted for, NCS will roll your $10 fee into the payment of the program itself.
NCS offers equipment rentals and group or private instruction at the Jetties Sailing Center. Members of our Jetties Sailing Center receive discounted rates on sailing lessons and many of our rental equipment are included within their membership fee as well. In addition to our standard programs, Nantucket Community Sailing partners with other organizations to provide access to the water and sailing opportunities. Some of these groups include:
- Boys & Girls Club for the children of Nantucket,
- AccesSport America, for disabled athletes,
- BigBrothers BigSisters for youth and their "bigs",
- Project Discovery for inner-city youth,
- Egan Maritime Institute for whaleboat rowing,
- Hawaiian Outrigger Canoe group for outrigger rowing.
