NCS 420's Have Strong Showing at New Bedford Junior Regatta
July 13, 2010

Nantucket Community Sailing's 420 Head Coach, Tyler Baeder, reports on the NCS 420 Racing Team during the New Bedford Junior Regatta:

"NCS's 420 race team posted strong performances this past weekend at the 80 boat New Bedford Junior Regatta. Adam Ceeley and crew Emma McGrath won the last two races of the four race series to finish the regatta tied for tenth place. Jake Bradt and crew Matt Fabiszak also sailed well, ending the regatta in 17th overall.

Highlights from the regatta were the starts. Experience and practice helped the NCS boats win 5 of 6 starts. The best of which was during Sunday's single race when both boats definitively won the pin on a contested pin favored line and easily sailed to a 1st and 2nd place rounding at the top mark. Our new red white and blue spinnakers made it easy to spot our sailors on the downwinds and definitely had everyone's attention when they went up 1-2 around the mark with perfect sets."

Congratulations to the NCS 420 Racing Team!!
