Adventure Sailing (ages 12-16)
November 7, 2019

In 2020 we're piloting an Adventure Sailing class! This once per week class is intended for sailors 12-16 y/o of intermediate abilities who may not be interested in racing but still endure a love of being on the water. Adventure Sailing exposes sailors to a variety of boat types and instills skills in seamanship to prepare sailors for a lifetime of sailing. Skills learned in the class include basic sailing skills, chart reading, knot-tying, and basic navigation. Sailors may be exposed to the following boats within the week: Rhodes 19, Marshall Cat 15, J/105 and Club 420.

Explore Nantucket Harbor with Adventure Sailing! Students may sign up for a package of all five dates (July 8, July 15, July 22, July 19, August 5) or single dates.

While life jackets are provided and required when on the water, each NCS student should be comfortable in and around the water and have basic swimming skills. We mandate that students wear appropriate shoes (closed-toe) when participating. Examples of closed-toe shoes are Native Footwear, Crocs, Keen and old sneakers. Adventure Sailing takes place at the Jetties Sailing Center on Wednesday afternoons from 1:00PM-3:30PM.
