Nantucket Community Sailing believes the skill of sailing fosters confidence, independence, teamwork, sportsmanship and a unique opportunity to interact with others and learn out on the water.  Though we love to have fun, our priority is safety and proper instruction on and off the water:

• Nantucket Community Sailing is a member of US SAILING, the national governing body of the sport of sailing.

• Sailing classes are supervised by US SAILING certified instructors, with CPR and First Aid certification from the American Red Cross.

• All students and instructors wear, at all times, a Coast Guard approved lifejacket when on boats and in waterfront areas. Lifejackets are provided by Community Sailing. In addition, all students in our Youth Program will be given a swim check on the first day of each session.

• Safety boats (motor boats) are on the water at all times.

• We are licensed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
