What Programs are available through NCS?
NCS has a large number of programs that we offer to sailor's ages 5 years old and up. You may review our updated program descriptions or schedules and fees at any time. We strongly suggest you visit these pages to read about the many sailing, windsurfing and water sport classes NCS offers before starting your registration process. By deciding what program(s) will best suite your sailor(s) ahead of time, you will have a smoother time completing the registration application.
Do I need to set up an account with NCS?
Yes, the first time anyone registers using our program registration system, you will need to set up an account. This will allow you to review your online account with us to see which programs you are registered for, if you have a balance and even make an online payment towards your account. By having an account through the NCS registration system, you will also be able to log in at any time to add programs for the current season or to sign up for a future season and find all your information saved from the previous set up. We understand that setting up an account will take a few minutes out of your day today, but hope that it will save you lots of time in the future!
Please note: An NCS website or NRW registration login is not the same as an NCS registration login. You will need to create a separate account for registration.
If you have a returning sailor, give the NCS office a call to see which program their instructors suggests for the 2013 season. If you have a new sailor or any other questions, please visit our program progression chart to get a feel for how one might move through our programs based on their age and experience level. You may also call our office at 508.228.6600or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we'll be happy to help you find the best program to fit your sailor.
How does the Waitlist Work?
We have a high demand for many of our programs and are pleased to offer a waitlist for any session that has been filled. We will try our best to clear as many participants from the waitlist as possible when space allows. Sometimes we are able to clear a waitlist early in the season and other times, it's the morning of a program. If your name comes up on a waitlist we will try every contact method you have provided. There is nonrefundable waitlist fee of $10 to help cover admin costs, which is considered a charitable contribution to NCS.
Do I need an NCS Membership?
Yes, an NCS membership is required to participate in the NCS programs and you will be prompted to purchase one during the online registration process. Membership levels start at $75 for a youth individual membership and range up to a $800 Jetties Sailing Center family membership. Depending upon the membership level you purchase, all or portion of your membership fee is considered a tax deductible donation to NCS, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and are therefore nonrefundable. To learn more about the NCS membership levels, click here.
Please note: Any account found incomplete and without a current NCS membership may be at risk of losing their placement in the 2013 seasons. Also, if an account is found incomplete, NCS will add the lowest level of NCS membership ($75) to their account.
I need help getting my sailor to or from class; is there a carpooling option?
Yes! Whether you are looking for someone to help get your sailor to or from class OR if you have an extra seat or two in your car - the Carpooling Information page allows you to connect to other NCS families.
When you register for our programs you will receive a confirmation email. Within this email is the link and password to our Carpooling Form. We keep this page password protected to ensure the security of the information provided by our participants. Once logged in you will be able to view other families who are sailing at the same location as you and/or traveling from the same part of the island as you.
It is our hope that by connecting our families we will help find a reduce the number of cars travel to and from our locations and also help to find a solution for some of our parents who might otherwise have to opt out of participating in our programs. To view the Carpooling login page, click here.
Another option is the Polpis Bus, which will run both in the morning and in the afternoon. This bus will leave from the Cyrus Pierce Middle School (CPS) and will take sailors to Polpis Harbor for their programs. At the end of the programs the bus will return to the CPS for parents to promptly pick up their children. Registration for this bus is done through the Youth Group Registration link and there is a $5 fee per week registration fee. For more information on the Bus call NCS directly at 508-228-6600.
