Before you register for our programs, here is some helpful information:
What Programs are available through NCS?
NCS has a large number of programs we offer to sailors ages 5 and up. Please review our updated class descriptions or schedules and fees. We strongly suggest you visit these pages to read about the many classes NCS offers before starting your registration process. By deciding what program(s) will best suite your sailor(s) ahead of time, you will have an easier time completing the registration application.
Do I need to set up an account?
Yes, first-timers will need to set up an account. This will allow you to view your account online, to see which programs you are registered for, if you have a balance, and make online payments. You will also be able to log-in at any time and add programs for the current season.
Access Your Online Account
Once you have registered for your classes and created an online account, you may log in at any time update your contact or medical information within your registration, pay a balance, or check the status of your current registration. As with the registrations links above, by clicking the appropriate link below you will be taken from the NCS website to the secure services provided by Active Network.
Again, please note this software is new to NCS and you will have to create a new account during your registration process. Once you have set up the new account you will be able to access it through the link below.
What should I register for?
If you have a returning sailor, give the NCS office a call to see which program their instructors suggests for the upcoming season. If you have a new sailor or any other questions, please visit our program progression chart to get a feel for how one might move through our programs based on their age and experience level. You may also call our office at 508.228.6600 or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we'll be happy to help you find the best program to fit your sailor.
How does the Waitlist Work?
We have a high demand for many of our programs and are pleased to offer a waitlist for any session that has been filled. We will try our best to clear as many participants from the waitlist as possible when space allows. Sometimes we are able to clear a waitlist early in the season and other times, it's the morning of a program. If your name comes up on a waitlist we will try every contact method you have provided. If we do not hear back from you within 24 hours, we will move to the next name on the waitlist. There is no fee to be added to a waitlist.
Do I need an NCS Membership?
Yes, an NCS membership is required to participate in the NCS programs and you will be prompted to purchase one during the online registration process. Membership levels start at $75 for a youth individual membership and range up to a $800 Jetties Sailing Center family membership. Depending upon the membership level you purchase, all or portion of your membership fee is considered a tax deductible donation to NCS, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and are therefore nonrefundable. To learn more about the NCS membership levels, click here.
Please note: Any account found incomplete and without a current NCS membership may be at risk of losing their placement in the current season. Also, if an account is found incomplete, NCS will add the lowest level of NCS membership ($75) to their account.
I need help getting my sailor to or from class
NCS offers our Polpis van service, which runs both in the morning and in the afternoon. This bus will leave from the Nantucket Ice Rink and take sailors to Polpis Harbor for their programs. At the end of the programs the bus will return to the Ice Rink for parents to promptly pick up their children. Registration for the van can be completed when registering for a Polpis Class.
