What Programs are available through NCS?
NCS has a large number of programs that we offer to sailor's ages 5 years old and up. Program descriptions and schedules are available on the schedules and fees page. We strongly suggest you visit this page to read about the many sailing, windsurfing and water sport camps NCS offers before starting your registration process. By deciding what program(s) will best suite your sailor(s) ahead of time, you will have a smoother time completing the registration application.
What should I register for?
If you have a returning sailor, give the NCS office a call to see which program their instructors suggests for the 2012 season. If you have a new sailor or any other questions, please call our office at 508.228.6600 or email us at registration@nantucketcommunitysailing.org and we'll be happy to help you find the best program to fit your sailor.
How does the Waitlist Work?
We have a high demand for many of our programs and are pleased to offer a waitlist for any session that has been filled. We will try our best to clear as many participants from the waitlist as possible when space allows. Sometimes we are able to clear a waitlist early in the season and other times, it's the morning of a program. If your name comes up on a waitlist we will try every contact method you have provided. There is a waitlist fee of $10 to help cover admin costs. If you are cleared into the program you have waitlisted for, NCS will roll your $10 fee into the payment of the program itself.
Do I need an NCS Membership?
Yes, an NCS membership is required to participate in the NCS programs and you will be prompted to purchase one during the online registration process. Membership levels start at $75 for a youth individual membership and range up to a $700 Jetties Sailing Center family membership. Depending upon the membership level you purchase, all or portion of your membership fee is considered a tax deductible donation to NCS, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. New this year: Any account found incomplete and without a current NCS membership may be at risk of losing their placement in the 2012 seasons. Also, if an account is found incomplete, NCS will add the lowest level of NCS membership ($75) to their account.
