Coffin Cup 2012
July 5, 2012

ADMIRAL SIR ISAAC COFFIN CUP
Friday, July 20th 2012
8:30am - 12:00pm

The Coffin Cup is a mini regatta that is open to all of our youth program participants.  Held in Polpis Harbor, races are run throughout the morning with an emphasis on sportsmanship and fun. The Coffin Cup is held in memory of Admiral Sir Isaac Coffin who founded the very first teaching/training vessel, Clio, for nautical studies in the United States.  It is our hope that Community Sailing's programs continue the maritime traditions the Admiral helped to start.

Check-in begins at 8:30am (weather permitting).  Parents, guardians, siblings and friends are encouraged to come down and observe the students sailing and demonstrating the skills that they have learned.  Several spectator boats will be available on a first come, first serve basis to enable guests to get close to the action.  Between 11:30am and 12pm, an awards party will take place.   NCS will provide drinks and treats for the students to enjoy, and parents are also asked to contribute a healthy snack to share.

Registration opens on Friday, July 6th at 9:00am.  If your sailor is interested in sailing, please call the NCS Office at 508-228-6600 to register him or her. Space is available on a first-come, first-serve basis.  Parents interested in getting out on the water on a spectator boat are also asked to call the NCS Office to add their names to the spectator list.

**In the case of inclement weather, a message will be posted on the NCS hotline by 7:30am on the morning of the event. Please call the hotline at 508-228-6212.**
